Here Are the Best PS4 Announcements from Sony’s State of Play

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2 Gameplay Reveal Trailer showcased the studio’s talent for uncomfortably realistic voice acting, natural-looking character models, and dramatic storytelling. But that was to be expected, at least for anyone familiar with Naughty Dog’s body of work. What really made the trailer special is its perfect synchrony with the original game’s weighty emotional core. The early cinematic gently and beautifully confirms Ellie’s sexuality, a stark reminder of the time passed since we last saw El

PlayStation’s focus on a handful of games for E3 2018 was well-known weeks before they held their press conference. With rumors swirling about a potential PlayStation 5 on the horizon, it was apparent that the platform holder would focus on its current crop of announced titles. The Last of Us Part II and Spider-Man are proven winners, and Death Standing continued to intrigue. Ghost of Tsushima, however, was perhaps the most interesting title. A far cry from Sucker Punch’s previous work, Ghost of Tsushima made its presence known at the show and stunned in its debut.

Speaking of Ubisoft, their long-awaited sci-fi sequel is also taking a break from the E3 stage, after returning from hibernation at E3 2017 and showing a second cinematic trailer the following year. Fans of the title, https://tsushimalegend.com/ however, still have a glimpse of Beyond Good and Evil 2 to look forward to this month, as their fifth Space Monkey Report livestream takes place on June 5 at 9 AM PT, with the previous livestream featuring a lengthy pre-alpha demo.

Ever since the release of Batman: Arkham VR in 2016, there has been radio silence regarding the next title from the acclaimed British developer, which will be a step in a new direction away from the dark knight. Apparently, three years is not enough for us to get our first glimpse at their newest project, as Rocksteady Studios co-founder Sefton Hill took to Twitter the week before E3 to confirm that they will not be making their way to LA this year.

The second of EA’s promised upcoming releases is “a new title in our Plants vs. Zombies shooter franchise,” which seemingly indicates a third Garden Warfare set to launch sometime in the next nine months. While there has not been an official confirmation that this title will not be shown at E3 2019 in some capacity, EA’s abandoning of their usual press conference and the title’s lack of inclusion in the EA Play streaming schedule all but establishes that their latest class-based shooter is not ready for primetime just yet.

At any rate, there were some pretty good announcements made during this short stream. We got confirmation of a few rumors ( Resident Evil 3 , Untitled Goose Game , Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind ), a short look at Platinum’s next title, and even a tease for Ghost of Tsushima . The Game Awards can’t get here soon eno

One of the most shocking announcements in gaming news last year came in mid-November, when Sony dropped the bombshell that they would not be attending the following year’s E3 in any capacity. With no press conference or space-consuming booth on the floor, PS4 owners will have to continue waiting for updates on Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part II, Concrete Genie and the rest of Sony’s first-party lineup.

We got to sit down with Sucker Punch Productions to see Ghost of Tsushima up close. Though it was the same demo shown at the conference, we did learn important new details. The game takes place in 1274 during the Mongols’ invasions of the island of Tsushima. You play as Jin Sekai, the last living samurai on the island. Having lost everything to the Mongols, Jin now fights for the common people as he tries to stave off the invasion.

The second tease at the end of Bethesda’s E3 2018 appearance was for the sixth entry in the developer’s mega-popular fantasy franchise. Much like Starfield, nothing has been shown about Elder Scrolls VI since its reveal and Howard also stated during the aforementioned panel that it would not have a presence at E3 this year, since the title is likely due after the release of Starfield.

Another ” State of Play ” stream is in the books and the results are a little mixed. While Sony is getting a little better at sneaking in some unexpected news, the streams still lack the personality and shock value of a Nintendo Direct. I will admit that the fakeout with Resident Evil Resistance did get me, though that’s mostly because I woke up well before I normally

From front to back, the gameplay trailer is an intensely frantic good time, infused with a sick sense of humor and lighthearted tone. A variety of weapons, including projectiles, vehicles, and special powers, are used to rapidly blast through enemies, sometimes sending them hurling through the air. Whatever players thought of the first Rage , even if it never crossed their radar, Rage 2 ‘s gameplay trailer is not one to be mis
