Frames Look Too Small for My Face: Finding Larger Sizes
I have a larger face, and most glasses I tried looked comically small on me. The frames look too small for my face problem plagued me until I learned about extended sizing.
The Small Frame Problem
Standard frames would:
- Look tiny and disproportionate
- Pinch my temples painfully
- Create pressure headaches
- Make my face look even larger by contrast
Understanding My Size Needs
My face measures 148mm wide, which is well above average. I need:
- Lens width: 56mm minimum (standard is 52-54mm)
- Bridge: 19-20mm
- Temple length: 145-150mm
- Total frame width: 145mm+
Finding Large Frame Glasses
I learned to specifically search for “large frame glasses” or “wide fit.” These aren’t always easy to find in stores, but online retailers often have better selection.
What Works for Larger Faces
Beyond size, I found that:
- Wider frames balance my face better
- Bold styles work well – I can carry them
- Rectangular shapes are more flattering than small rounds
The Result
Properly sized frames transformed my look. They’re proportionate, comfortable, and actually enhance my features instead of looking like toy glasses on my face.
